But as noted, it was actually planned, a proper story that didn't shit all over the legacy of Star Wars, and you'll notice that while a lot of the PT actors have admitted parts of it weren't perfect, they have all said they genuinely enjoyed working on it and being a part of it, which is quite contrary to the sequels. The vfx were incredible for the time and the music was outstanding (however granted the same can be said for the sequels). Yes, the dialogue was pretty terrible in places, but the story was wonderfully thought out and genuinely made perfect sense. Plus, you'll notice that almost all the main cast members have now come out to say at least something negative about the sequels (John Boyega being the most notable), which definitely suggests that the sequels weren't up to scratch. They were the ones responsible for the many mistakes, lack of planning and overall poor end result of the sequels, the actors were just doing as they were told. The negativity more centres towards the writers, directors and Kathleen Kennedy, who did have control over the series. It's fucking tired and boring if you've been a fan for a long 's amusing that EU stans are constantly posting about Disney "disregarding" the EU when George Lucas didn't give a single fuck, and EU fans were constantly whining and on the rampage about how Lucas was steamrolling over "canon" any time he made a new Prequel or Clone Wars episode lol.Īctually you'll notice most people who dislike the sequels do not hate on the actors, they actually pity them.
Today's "Disney/Kathleen Kennedy are ruining Star Wars!" is yesterdays "George Lucas is ruining Star Wars!" People either were too young or want to completely ignore how hated-not only by fans, but general fans/audience the prequels were hated. You think Rey is hated? How about Ahsoka, a LOT of fans hated her because she "came out of nowhere", "how can Anakin have a padawan if he's just a knight!?" "she's not mentioned anywhere else, this DESTROYS 'the canon'!", etc etc etc. 7 years after Revenge of the Sith came out, Lucas was so tired of all the hate he said fuck it and sold it all to Disney.
